Privacy Policy
Two different things live under one name: the app on your machine, and this marketing website. They are governed differently, so they are described separately.
The app
Your notes are stored in an encrypted vault on your own device, with a key only you hold. We cannot read them. They are not uploaded to us, and there is no account to sign into for the notes themselves.
The app sends no telemetry, no crash reports and no usage events. If you enable syncing, your encrypted data moves through a cloud folder you already own and control, and it stays encrypted in transit and at rest.
This website
noteprivate.com is ordinary web hosting and it does measure things, because we need to know which pages people read. It uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records anonymised session activity such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and masks text you type by default. These run in your browser on this site only and never touch the app or your notes.
You can block them with any content blocker and the site still works.
The waitlist
NotePrivate is not on sale yet. If you join the waitlist we store your email address so we can tell you when it opens. That address goes into our own storage and into our email platform, which is Bento. We do not sell or share it. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
What we never do
- Read, scan or upload the contents of your notes
- Sell or rent your email address
- Use your notes to train anything
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to [email protected] and a human will answer.
